“Last week, online retailer Amazon announced that it has received 238 bids from cities and towns hoping to be the site of its second North American headquarters after Seattle. The new location will be the site of more than $5 billion in spending and up to 50,000 new jobs.
The bids come from 43 states, the District of Columbia, seven Canadian provinces and cities in three Mexican states. Although Amazon says cities are free to talk openly about their bids as long as they don’t reveal certain corporate information, most are keeping quiet…”
