“The United Parcel Service (UPS) expects to hire more than 900 seasonal workers in the St. Louis area to support anticipated increases in package volume this holiday season. Nationally, UPS plans to hire about 100,000 seasonal employees.
“Every year, we deliver the holidays for millions of customers,” Jim Barber, chief operating officer for the company, said in a statement. “In order to make that happen, we also deliver thousands of great seasonal jobs at our facilities across the country.”
UPS plans to hire 414 package handlers, 80 delivery and tractor-trailer drivers and 446 driver-helpers, officials said. Tractor-trailer and package car driver jobs start at $18.75 per hour, while package handlers are paid $10.00 per hour and driver-helpers are paid $13.00 per hour…”
