Gov. Mike Parson capped a noteworthy week in new job announcements in the state Thursday as he and other economic development officials unveiled a large-scale industrial project in Crystal City.
Financed in part through more than $22 million in taxpayer-backed incentives from the state and Jefferson County, the project first reported by the Post-Dispatch will bring a fiber cement siding manufacturing facility to the now-shuttered Festus Memorial Airport.
The company, Ireland-based James Hardie Industries, said it would create an estimated 238 jobs.
