Industry leaders from manufacturing, logistics and transportation, as well as representatives from the Illinois Department of Transportation, Missouri Department of Transportation and East-West Gateway Council of Governments met today to update the 2017 Multimodal Project list.
Projects are evaluated based on economic and multimodal impact, as well as how they’ll increase freight network efficiency. This type of public-private collaboration helps the region compete for state and federal funding, and has been described by the U.S. Department of Transportation as a model for the country.
