West Star Aviation, an East Alton-based aircraft maintenance company, has agreed to buy an Ohio-based aircraft services business.
West Star said late Tuesday it has signed an agreement to acquire Jet East, the U.S.-based maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) aircraft services business of United Kingdom-based Gama Aviation PLC.
Gama, which trades on the London Stock Exchange, said the deal is valued at about $131 million and is contingent on its shareholders’ approval at a Nov. 3 meeting. The transaction is expected to be completed shortly thereafter, according to a Gama news release.
